In preparation for my second 5k this coming weekend, i ran 4 miles today. Unfortunately the sportband only registered 3.68 miles. I am absolutely certain of the distance as i measured it out with the car. I calibrated the sportband yesterday (and even then it wasn't off by too much), so i suspect that there may be another issue.
As i run in a pair of mizunos, i had to cobble together a solution for the sensor; i stuck it in the shoe wallet where i've been keeping my car key and some emergency cash.
It took some double-sided mounting tape, but i thought i had it in pretty stable.
The velcro however does not keep it on as tightly as i'd like so i wonder if it's not the bouncing around that's making it a little inaccurate.
So anyway, i bought a "sensor pocket" to put the sensor in. It appears to be the exact size and fits the shoe pretty snugly. No evidence of bouncing here.
With one attachment on each shoe i'm sure i'm going to look a little dorky, but hey- if it works, don't knock it.
Let's see if this works any better tomorrow.
Just an interesting factoid: look where the sensor pocket comes from...
Ayos. I wonder who Nathan is?
